Health insurance leads and the ways to generate them. Contemporary market is highly competitive these days. There are a lot of companies, which hire health insurance agents who are responsible for searching potential clients for them to buy policies. So, it’s getting harder to work in such severe competition, especially when traditional ways such as billboards and newspaper advertisements do not work any more. Where to locate effective health insurance lead? To answer this question it would be better to give a simple definition of what the notion of health insurance leads means.

Health insurance lead is a part of a system, an intermediary between an agent and a potential customer. There are the services of special companies intended to give the information both to the customers — about existed policies — and to agents — about the potential customers.

If you are an agent it would be useful for you to know how to generate health insurance leads. Telemarketing is one of the most effective ways used to help generate health insurance leads. The latter appear to be personalized and exclusive at the same time. But what else can be done for both parts: agents and customer?

Recent surveys showed that more and more people are getting Internet-aware. People used to browse the Internet for more information about any product before they want to buy it, including policies. Though, not many of them venture to purchase policies through the Internet, but there is a tendency for the number of Internet buyers to grow. As a result, the most efficient health insurance leads are those found on-line. As a response to today’s Internet generation, there are a lot of on-line firms dedicated to searching health insurance leads and delivering them to their customers. The majority of these leads offer similar services, the difference is in price and method mostly.

Tips for agents – What to pay attention at while applying for lead-generating service?

1. What qualities should lead-generating firm possess? Actually, they depend on what do you expect to get from them.

2. Reliable firms guarantee the information they supply to you is authentic. It means, the names and e-mail addresses of prospects are thoroughly checked before being supplied to the clients. In case there is an occasional invalid lead, you may be offered a payback, at least this service is a usual thing for reputable firms.

3. Reputable companies use additional filters to be sure the coverage meets all the requirements put in by the customer.

4. In case you may require additional, say demographic information, it can be given to you at your desire.

5. While addressing any of lead-generating firms you will be offered the names and e-mails of health insurance prospects. But if you would like to offer a policy for it to be the most suitable for your customer, it would depend on how these lead-generating firms collect such data like sex, age and ZIP code.

Making investment in your future health.

A notion of insurance is not new nowadays since people always tend to protect the most valuable things they have: from bikes to business assets. While all these things are valuable in some degree, the most valued is our health. If “health is our wealth” it becomes clear why health insurance apart from other types of insurance is the most expensive one. Nevertheless, it is one of the most sold in the United States as the people choose to invest in their future – healthy and protected life.

When familiarizing with the market, you will find various types of health insurance plans. However, it is not so easy to purchase it for unemployed individuals. Before signing a contract with a health insurance company everyone needs to make some payments upfront, so an unemployed person will surely feel the need for some cash. And what a miss it would be if you are offered an ideal terms of your policy and the single thing that stops you from buying it is some cash. In this case an unemployed person may take a loan. Actually, there are multitude of them, but mostly they involve time consuming formalities. Pay day loan would be the most appropriate chance for you.

A pay day loan is a loan which let you get cash quickly but it should be repaid next payday. The problem is that pay day loans are available for employed individuals only. What to do if you are getting into a new job and want to purchase a policy? Then, you have to show sufficient proof that you will be capable of paying on the next day or the next salary day. To prove this you will have to submit a proof document such as a letter from your employer where he confirms you will get a salary next day; or it may be an appointment order from a company you are going to work for.

Don’t waste time. Medical care costs are growing every day and plans will help you to deal with your health problems without financial loss. Moreover, while applying any reputable company for a job you will have to show your policy. So, if you are looking for a job and want to buy a health insurance plan, you are welcome to do it right now — through the Internet. If you do not have enough money for upfront payment, you may apply for a pay day loan over the Internet as well. You have to find cash advance website and fill in the application form giving your employment information. Now quick cash is yours. Don’t miss a good policy and purchase it right now.

Next time, when you have any financial problems and you need to buy a policy, you already know what to do. It is easy to have a health insurance policy with pay day loan available through Internet.

Private health insurance has existed long enough alongside the public health system, but it was not in demand till the end of World War II. Its popularity has grown due to increasing costs of health care. In time when medical bills were too expensive for patients to pay, the idea of prepaid medical care was widely supported by the public. Currently, private health insurance dominates on the market and does not seem to lose ground.

Though there was a great number of attempts to make health insurance reform and to provide senior people safety net, a greater part of Americans still prefer to get affordable medical care and cheap quotes from private companies.

As you see, there are two types of health insurance in the U.S.: public and private. What is the difference between them and benefits? Public health insurers offer two kinds of insurance plans determined to certain types of customers. They are Medicare and Medicare Advantage.

Medicare is a public program supported by the United States government which provide health insurance coverage to a certain category of people. It was founded in 1965. This program deals with aged people who are 65 and above, or people with disabilities.

Medicare Advantage is a part of a Medicare plan, which was designed in 1997. The main advantage is that it includes the prescription drug coverage. It also combines the public and private sector. Does it sound strange? The thing is the customer may choose one of Medicare Advantage plans where private health care plans are included either.

PHI plans. Lastly, there are private health insurance plans or PHI plans. As compare to the previous plans PHI offer a contract between a client (also known as beneficiary) and a company. Before signing a contract with the firm a customer has to undergo thorough medical examination. The results of medical examination will determine the type of a plan to be offered to a customer.

The best is to understand how it works, let’s make an example. Suppose a customer was diagnosed an antecedent of cancer. In this case even if the risk of suffering cancer again is very high, a person will not be offered to have a cancer policy, as far as providers make money on such kinds of contracts.

Health savings accounts (HSA) in details.

The HSA plan is a medical savings account available for clients of High Deductible Health Plans. The latter are considered to be cheaper than traditional medical insurance policy, in addition they are IRS qualified plans. These health savings accounts are nontaxable, so the insured patients have to make an informed decision on account of what medical care services to choose.

The advantages of HSA plans.

1. Allow to accumulate funds. If you are health and you do not spend money for medical care cover, they accumulate year to year. In case your balance reaches 100 000 dollars you may invest the money in funds and stocks.

2. Make tax savings. HSA plans are tax-advantaged medical savings accounts.

3. You feel free for controlling your medical costs. If you choose to get medical treatment from any other doctor outside of network, you would be paid a cover.

4. Tax-free withdrawals. With HSA plan your medical costs with lower amount than needed for HDHP cover, would be covered.

5. Allow additional tax-free withdrawals. Health case costs like dental and vision care, long term care and maternity care are not included in traditional health care plans and should be payed out from the pocket of a patient. Medical savings plan provides insurance cover for such kinds of health care without taxation.

6. Retirement fund. When the owner of of HSA plan reaches the age of 65 years he may make a withdrawal from an account for non-medical costs. He also is allowed to withdraw funds in case he suffers any disability. Though he won’t have any penalties, but he will pay taxes.

7. Ownership. In case of death of a health savings account owner, the ownership will transfer to the spouse off tax charge.

Medical saving plans – how to choose the best plan?

There is a great number of insurance companies in the United States and it is easy to get confused with the variety of medical saving plans they offer. In this situation, it is very important to choose the best medical saving plan for you and your family for it to protect you against any unforeseen health problems. And the main idea of each medical saving plan is to protect you from financial losses that may occur as a result of high health care costs.

Nowadays medical care advances as well as treatment and technologies are increasing, consequently medical care costs are growing all the time. So, in case of severe illness a patient will have to pay much for his medical treatment. To make it easier for a person to overcome health and related financial problems, insurance firms offer medical saving plans. Your task is to choose the most appropriate medical saving plan for you.

The best way to do this it to answer the following questions before choosing a medical saving plan:

- What are the types of medical saving plans and is there the one to suit the requirements of my family?

- How to choose the best medical saving plan for me?

- What medical saving plan is ideal for me: long-term, short-term or organized care? Does the plan I like cover disabilities or does it deal with health only?

- Is it possible to find the information about private insurance, uninsured patients and public expenditures?

- In case of serious illness will I be able to pay medical care expenses?

- Can I find a medical insurance policy to cover medical services I need?

Normally, companies offer a range of policies to their customers for them to choose the most appropriate.

They are:

1) The Traditional Indemnity Plans, which are on the one hand more expensive but on the other hand provide maximum medical benefits;

2) The Health Maintenance Organization or the HMOs, which normally provide minimal medical benefits with the cheapest and most affordable medical insurance policies;

3) The hybrid variants: Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) plans and High Deductible Health Insurance (HDHI) plans. HDHI plans are favored for having spiraling rates of health insurance quotes;

4) The Medical Saving Account (MSA);

5) The Health Saving Accounts Qualified High Deductible Plans (HSA).

In my next article i will tell you about HSA in details.

The following tips would be useful for you to know before travelling abroad:

1. If a U.S. citizen fall ill or get injured abroad then a U.S. Consular officer will arrange all necessary medical service and inform the family members about the situation. If there is a necessity in case of serious disease, a U.S. Consular will transfer additional funds from the United States for solving health care problems. However, keep in mind that all hospital costs and other expenses will be at patients cost.

2. Also find out in advance the amount of your medical cover abroad. If you are said you will be able to get medical cover overseas due to the contract of your health insurance plan, then keep in mind you have to carry the proof of your policy with you (it can be the insurance plan identity card) as well as the claim form. Although only few firms would cover the evacuation charge in case you have to be transported to the U.S, but a great part of them would surely cover reasonable medical costs abroad.

3. If are a U.S citizen living outside of the country, usual American private health insurance cover would be ineligible. According to traditional contract terms, the amount of cover you may have outside would be greatly limited, and sometimes could be eliminated.

4. It is better to find out whether you are – a U.S. citizen living outside of your country – eligible to participate in health insurance plans sponsored by the government of the country you are living in. Usually, you are not eligible. Though if you become seriously ill, you will have the opportunity to apply for medical help in other countries, including the U.S.

5. If you are a non-U.S citizen an international policy is also available for you. You may purchase it as a supplement to your local policies. In this case, you would get health insurance cover while being outside of your country.
Be aware, the international coverage you are eligible for has no limits. For example, you may travel safely with the International Citizen Series Health Plan which offers you an annually renewable coverage. It also extends either for a single person or for a whole family. Both U.S. citizens and non-U.S citizens traveling anywhere outside their native country may have travel medical insurance.

Health insurance – what is it needed for?

Health insurance – what is it needed for? Health insurance was designed to protect you and your family from any financial difficulties in case of unexpected medical emergency. It is a kind of agreement between a customer and the insurance company, where both parts have made an agreement to share financial losses for customers medical benefits in turn for his regular monthly payment.

Medical scientists have made a long stride toward improvement of medical service and techniques, which surely determines the price for medical benefits. And very often the prices are high. In case of serious long-term treatment or surgery the costs for medical assistance are in large excess over monthly salary. So, the patients are not ready to pay such a fortune. Companies were made to help patients to overcome health problems without great financial losses. Nowadays there are enough companies in America, which offer a wide range of insurance plans to suit your special need and to help you in most unpleasant situations of your health life.

Before buying health insurance it is suggested to answer these questions first:

- What firms exist on the market and what types of health insurance plans do they offer?

- How to choose the most suitable plan among such wide variety of them?

- What care plan to choose: short term or long term and what are the pros and cons for both of them?

- Does the the policy I like cover disabilities or it is just a health insurance?

- Is there an alternative and will I be able to afford medical service costs?

- Is there a plan which cover the sort of medical services I need?

- Where can I get an information about uninsured customers, private insurance and public expenditures?

Currently we have a great number of various health care policies which you may compare and choose the most affordable one. They are:

The Traditional Indemnity Plans – they usually are rather expensive but provide maximum qualitative medical benefits to their clients;

Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO) plan are the most affordable plans, which are the cheapest and provide good health insurance with minimum number of benefits;

Preferred Provider Organisations (PPO) plan and Point of Service (POS) plan are the hybrid variations of HMO and the Traditional Indemnity Plans.

When choosing health care plan pay attention to specific features like:

- Will the cover the prescription drugs I habitually use?

- Do I have to pay for the application? (Mostly, reputable companies do not require any application or enrollment fee, pay attention to it)

- Will it cover only inpatient or outpatient costs or both of them? Is the common deductible used for both of them? (A deductible means a certain contracted sum of money to be paid by a customer upfront for the insurance to start cover the rest)

- What are the benefits of such policies? Are they scheduled?

- Will I have a cover at once or should I wait after I avail a policy? What are the nuances I must to know?

While picking up a health insurance policy to suit you and your family ideally, pay attention to the most important aspect – affordability. Find out what monthly premium fee would be and compare to your income. Then, pay attention to medical costs that undergo covering and compare to medical costs you usually have. Also, identify whether you would be able to get coverage for medical costs of a doctor, who is not included in the list of recommended specialists. At last, count if the deductible fee is not too high for you to pay at once on account of medical emergency.

Deductible – what is it and when to pay it? Deductible is a usual term for those who have health insurance. This is an amount of money you have to pay before your health insurance pay anything. The main demand is that it should be payed before you can claim for health insurance to pay medical service you need.

Currently high deductible health plans (HDHP) are rather popular as they used to be before. HDHP is an insurance plan with higher deductibles and lower premiums. Though they may seem to be pricey at first sight, but they offer better health care to HDHP insured customers. Nowadays, big companies as well as individuals choose to have high deductible plans as the coverage is proportionally higher the higher the price for medical care service is.

Deductible rates. It would be better to use the example to illustrate the deductible rates. For instance, if you choose a plan with 1000 dollars deductible, it means that you will get coverage in case the bill for medical benefits exceeds deductible amount. In case doctor’s bill is 800 dollars, you won’t be paid the coverage, but if the medical service costs you 5000 dollars, you will pay only 1000 dollars and the rest will be covered by the company you are contracted with.

So, when you have seen how deductible works it is easier to understand that if the deductible is lower, the company is going to pay more. That is why a monthly premium for 250 dollars deductible plan will cost more that it would be for 500 dollars policy. As you see, high deductible health insurance plans are not hard to maintain.

The Optimum Deductible. Now that when basic notions about deductible are covered, a usual question to ask remains “What amount can be the optimum deductible?” If you are choosing the most appropriate family insurance policy and have faced this problem, here are some tips that would help you to make right decision as for the best deductible amount for you:

Can afford deductible? Then it’s for you. So, if deductible is an amount of money you have to pay in case of any claim for coverage, think about a sum of money that won’t hurt your budget in case you have to pay it unpredictably. On the other hand, a high deductible amount means you won’t be covered medical benefits bills if the price is lower that the deductible rate. It’s like you will have to pay by yourself if you need to check up your wellness or just consult the doctor. Be aware, the most appropriate deductible is that one you can easily shed without hurting your budget and causing any discomfort to you or your family.

Long term care insurance types. In 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) establishes two kinds of long term insurance:

1. non-tax qualified LTC (it was also known as traditional LTC);

2. tax-qualified LTC.

Let’s view both of them in details.

The first type of long term care insurance is not charged taxes upon. It is usually activated by a “trigger” which is a so called “medical necessity trigger”. It means that the patient should address his physician or a doctor referred by a firm for him to state that the patient needs medical care, only after this the policy will pay. A patient is required to be unable to perform at leas one activity of daily living which include dressing, bathing, eating, toileting, etc. In this case the company has no choice but to help the patient immediately. The main disadvantage of this type of LTC is that a patient will surely receive a tax bill after he gets medical care benefits, and there is always a risk that the sum in a tax bill can be rather large. It should be mentioned that there are only few firms which offer non-tax qualified LTC as it costs very expensive to insurance companies. As a result, tax-qualified long term care insurance is more common.

If to speak about tax-qualified LTC it differs from non-qualified one. According to it the policy will pay only in case the patient needs medical care for 90 days minimum and is not able to perform at leas two daily living activities. Also medical benefits can be provided in case a patient has severe cognitive dysfunction and needs medical care for more than 90 days. Otherwise, a doctor has to give a plan of care. According to tax-qualified health care insurance all medical benefits got by the insured patient are non-taxable.

Apart from the fact that one LTC is taxable and another is not, non-qualified LTC is more friendly to costumers as there is no restrictions of HIPA rules. So, one LTC offers you tax deductibility, another – high level of medical service, and it’s up to you what to choose for it is impossible to have high medical service without paying taxes.

There is an individual program of LTC for federal government workers. About 20 million American federal workers are able to get federal long term care health insurance plan. The latter has a range of benefits over common plans of LTC medical insurance offered by firms. Addition conditions that let a patient get a cover are: mental disorders, informal care, international coverage, rate stability and others.
