As I have already mentioned in my previous article it is difficult to find cheap policy for seniors and what is more difficult is to find companies that insure ages more than 75, 80. But what can we do? All of us like to travel or just need to relocate, so one day everybody meets with the question, where to get the right one?
To get the quote for senior travel insurance needs answering the following questions:
1. Will it be a single trip or multi trip?
2. Destination of your jorney. Quote will differ depending on your travelling overseas, especially for long distances.
3. Transportation: air, train, bus or maybe it will be a cruise on a luxury ship. Transportation can affect health of seniors, especially by air. As for the cruise it is not easy too, cause usually in serious injuries or illnesses they will have to leave you in the nearest port and send back home to continue the cruise.
4. How long your trip will be. Companies usually offer 21, 31 and 45 days. ( Remember that sometimes it is better if your policy lasts longer than your trip cause sometimes you can be late because of some reasons).
5. Your general health condition. As for medical policies included in your travel insurance – check if evacuation is included is case you can not move after an accident or injury. It is also important if your medical expenses will be payed directly to the hospital, or if you pay first and then get money from your company on your arrival home. Your medical expenses can be really high and maybe you will not have so much cash to pay all of them if something serious happen.
6. Are you doing sports? Sometimes ski is ok up to 68 years but mostly companies do not cover extreme sports in over 65 travel insurance.
Any agency will ask these questions and upon them give you quote and cost of your coverage. If the price is important for you, it is advised to check quotes in other companies. Cause even the company that you use all your life may have more expensive quotes that another ones. It is easy to check online quotes from other insurance companies before you buy one. Still, as your health and life is very important, check the policy carefully to be protected.
